Living one day at a time

Three days ago, my three aunt’s together with my cousins visited us at home. It’s been a while since my mom’s sisters came to visit. I remember, when I was just a kid, they used to bond with my mom at home. Sometimes they bake cakes and cookies, cook pasta or a new recipe my aunt discovered. And I would play with my cousins. Sometimes they bring toys and other times we play our local games. It was fun to bond with them because we would always plan to visit our grandparents the next day. They stayed near the rice fields so we enjoy the most when we go there, just running around until we get tired. During summer, grandpa would build us kites and let them fly as high as the birds fly. Those were really good old times.

We got a good laugh when we recalled all those times. Today is different. After grandma died, grandpa lived with my spinster aunt. He is now old and need to be taken care of. But we still visit him. Though this time, we don’t have kites to fly anymore. But we would still see grandpa’s face lights up when we talk about those days.

Anyway, most of my cousins are now working and some are still in college. When asked about what I have been up to lately aside from work, I told my cousins I’m into internet blogging. They have blogs but only on Friendster, so when I explained to them and let them see what’s up about the blogging world nowadays, they got really interested. They want me to help them establish their own sites. I told them I would gladly help of course. I know where to get the best hosting package for new sites. Isn’t that great? We are on the process right now. I am excited for them. I remember how anxious I was when I had my very first own site.

With the on going crisis at present, we can’t help but to close our eyes and just feel how hard life can be. Prices are rising and we are called to earn more than what we usually do. Of course we just can’t let this situation paralyze us. Creativity on things is always helpful in times like this. There are a lot of ways in earning extra money aside from our regular jobs.

My good friend had been offering me to supply sets of wholesale fashion jewelry that I could sell to friends at work, relatives and some other friends. She had been doing it for over three years now. She started also with just selling to friends until her products got noticed by many. Now she has a chain of stores at a local mall and planning to expanding early next year.

I did not think long before accepting her offer. I could earn with this business because I could still put mark up unto the wholesale price and still end up with the same price like those sold at the mall. I believe I have a market at work, at home and with friends and relatives. A lot of my cousins as well as my friends an co employees at work love accessories like fashion jewelries. With an enough saving for my capital, I bet I could sell all my first set in a week.

My sister pleaded me to drive her in town yesterday afternoon since her husband was on a seminar. They are on building their new house and that she need an errand of buying bathroom faucets. And so I drove her at the mall and while she was busy buying I went up shopping too and just meet up at the cafe shop for our lunch. She treated me for a sumptuous lunch and I enjoyed the day with her. it been ages that we haven’t bonded together since she got married. I hope we can still do the same just like when we were kids.
