Living one day at a time

My sister’s 19th birthday was last Tuesday. She is living in the city because she is studying there, but she comes home on weekends when she is not busy. Since it’s her birthday was on Tuesday, she was with us last weekend for her advance birthday celebration. When dad told me about his surprise for my sister, the Acer Aspire she had wanted to own, I thought of a plan surprising her. A few days before weekend, we already told her that her birthday celebration will not be that grand when she turned 18. Only few of her friends will be invited and we will cook dinner at home. So, it looked like she had a simple celebration. The surprise came on Tuesday, my dad shipped his gift through the one day shipping service. My sister was so surprised when she had her gift. She immediately called us up thanking. It was really fun. We are all glad she liked the surprise.

I was alone at home yesterday. My mom and my sister went to shop for Stuart Weitzman bags and shoes. They said they haven’t got a gift for themselves for Christmas. LOL! It’s already January! Well, it’s better late than never. I could not join them because I had to clean the house especially my room. I will not have time after because of an upcoming busy schedule. And besides, I have already a gift for myself –a nice gorgeous coat on sale last Christmas.

My brother came home for the Holidays. He has been working abroad as an engineer. It’s rare that he spends the holidays with us. Every year he sends us (my parents and my siblings) gifts for the holiday. But this year his presence is the most wonderful gift he gave us plus he bought a Samsung flat screen TV for our home. It was actually cool. We had our old TV but nobody is watching TV that much anymore since the internet craze. But for the next days, I guess we will all be watching too much TV again. LOL!

With my whole family, we would go out on weekends to see a movie. But since everyone has gotten busy lately, I am planning to browse the plasma tvs sold online. I am thinking of making a vacant room of our house to become a small theater for us. DVD marathon will be a fun family activity on weekends. Since we can’t find time to go out anymore, I guess this will cover for the lost family time.

Family and friends around the world gather around for friend who is based in London. Everyone calls it Cyber Monday. My friend wants to see to it that everyone he loves is updated with what’s happening to him there. It’s been three months since he got a job in London and according to him, he has not yet adjusted. Well, he has a lot of time to fit in his new environment.
