Living One Day at a Time

Every three months, my mom, my sister and myself bond together by enrolling into worthwhile activities. We started this when my younger sister stared working -that was two years ago. The memorable activities we did together were yoga, baking, speech power, and painting.

For this month, we are scheduled to learn candle making in three weeks time. We are all scented candles addicts that’s why I convinced them easily to enroll. We will be starting our candle making lessons tomorrow. Excited, I went to shop this afternoon for our candle making supplies like fragrance oil, soy wax, and candle jars. I just can’t wait to make my own candles.

The biggest accomplishment we have achieved this month is our successful remodeling of the interior design of our home by our own selves. I teamed up with my mom, my dad and my younger sister for a the job. Through the help of some interior designing magazines, we finally finished it just last weekend. We are still couldn’t believe eyes, until now. We did a great job while bonding with the whole family!

Today, my mom suggested that we should renew some of our kitchen stuff. One thing in particular is our enclume pot rack. I searched the web this morning and I saw really nice designs of enclume pot racks.  When i showed these enclume potracks, we agreed that they would be perfect for our newly remodeled kitchen. I’ll show you our new kitchen on my next post.

Being new in Pennsylvania, my sister’s decisions were all dependent on me. She moved in with me four days ago.

But today, she need to do things on her own. I have to go on a trip. On my way to my trip, I received an sms from her asking me to find a salon for her because she got a call for a job interview tomorrow. So I told her to go downtown and find hair salon chalfont. I advised her to be observant of the salon’s other services like hair salon chalfont color, and full service salon chalfont because I also want to get my hair done. Well, hope this will be the start of my sister’s independence!

During one of my weekend bonding with my sister’s family at their place, my 10 year old nephew was glued in assembling an old computer into new updates. My sister told me the story about my nephew’s fascination with the computer. He already knows the computer parts since his school involves the kids into computer lessons. One time he got home from school, he told them he wanted to become an IT specialist someday. My sister and her husband were surprised to hear him talk about computer since during his early education he hates about computer. It turned out that he got his ideas on their computer lessons. I told my sister that was a good start that he‘s showing interest that he can manage soon their small Branding Agency.There was even a time when he brought home computer magazine and went on lecturing them about the facts he learned from the magazine. He even makes discussion with his father about computer and teaching his grandparents on how to use the computer. At his age I can see he can go a long way with his dreams and passion. I was delighted with him so on that Sunday I brought him to a 3D movie and he was pleased and delighted. After that we dined at his favorite restaurant. I enjoyed my weekends with my sister family and looking forward to be with them once again.

Once every year, our whole clan gather together for a family reunion. Last year, it was celebrated at our house but many of our relatives didn’t make it. This year we are hoping everyone will be present. The reunion will be held at my aunt’s newly renovated house. She won a cash prize in a raffle promo that’s why she gave her house a new look. I heard she has a new set of kitchen furniture which she bought from the local kitchen designer. I‘m so thrilled to see her house and everyone who will attend our get together. I have heard that they prepared a lot of parlor and sport games for the kids and the winner will be receiving nfl jerseys and for the adults as well. Grandma prepared a lot of prices too. Mom and Dad prepared a variety of dishes for our dinner. The old men want also to organize a fun games for them. My aunt would be cooking her our favorite family recipe and Grandpa will prepare a sweet and delicious dessert. I love family reunions, specially the food feasting and the gifts lol! I love this family gatherings where we can reach out again to our relatives who live in far away places like in abroad. We really look forward to this day.

The last time I talked with my cousin on the phone was last month. This afternoon I receive a call from her informing me that they have already move in their new house. The big move was very stressful but with the help of a moving company just like movers New York, everything went smoothly. This time they are enjoying their new house which is very convenient to live in.
