Yesterday we celebrated my older sister’s birthday thru a family dinner. Me and my mom prepared something special aside form the birthday cake which the kids loved. My dad bought a special wine from the local winery. My sister, the birthday celebrant and her family brought some food also. My younger sister brought home a half gallon ice cream.

After dinning, we all went to the living room for coffee except for the kids who went to play computer games. When we all gave her our gifts, my sister was so touched that she went on hugging and kissing us all. We were all surprise to see that three of her gifts (One each from me, my younger sister and my mom) were accessories for her sewing hobby. It was a funny because my sister revealed that her husband gave her too a new sewing machine from singer sewing machines What a coincidence!

As the New Year started I’m thinking how can I make this new year a better one. I first think on how to save more and live a frugal life but how when all custodies are expensive. I need more wisdom to use my meager wealth responsibly. One of the thing that can help me is buying in discounted shops and also with the best buy. Some say that the expensive products are the best one. I disagree because they are both the same the only difference is the price and the brand name. Why buy an expensive one when they have same composition and taste.

Weekend was some what a boring one because the weather did not cooperate. It started to rain Friday afternoon till Saturday evening. We planed to drive in the country side that Saturday but we cancel the trip. We just stayed home ordered delivery foods and rented DVDs for our movie marathon weekend. Assuming we were seated in home theater sconces we seated on our couch and the others on the mat floor. We enjoyed feasting our delivered foods, the movie and the complete company of our family. Thanks to the weather we had a quality time for the whole family.

My dad and I started our daily routine of jogging around our front yard or using the treadmill especially when its raining or cold outside, eating and drinking healthy and sleeping at least 6 hrs a day. Our on month-long sacrifices is paying off. We already lost some weight and we feel stronger. That’s why we are always on the go.

Self discipline is just what we need to attain our goals.
